Hello everyone! I have listed on ebay Australia a genuine, rare "LIVE AT THE PALACE HOTEL BALLROOM" poster. It belongs to my brother who has owned it for about 10 years. The listing can be found at http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180234060735

Very, very interesting, Sandbitch. :D Right away the colour of your poster stands out. I was looking at my posters from BBPrivate for other differences ...

The flash didn't go off but that's OK. The one on the right is dry mounted and has been on display for over 20 years, hence the discolouration. Then it hit me, like a giant can of Foster's, the signatures!! The movie poster doesn't have the signatures! Also, the movie poster has some typed writing in the bottom left corner. That must be the "Tribune Showprint Inc." markings.

Posted Image

The size is also a bit different. The BBPrivate posters are roughly 21" x 16" and yours is 22" x 14". So, I'm convinced you have something very rare. The asking price ... heh, no comment. :P

Regarding the certificate of authenticity, does it mention that this exact poster was seen in the movie? Was it the poster the orphan hands to Aretha? Or the one Ray hangs upside down?

Anyway, very cool. Good luck with the auction.

Thanks for the reply. Well spotted, no signatures. Yes, the markings on the lower left say "Tribune Showprint Inc". This is the one Ray Charles hangs upside down, no less. There are several "watchers" on ebay. This is the genuine item so I chose the longest listing on ebay to give as many people an opportunity to bid for it. I urge those who are genuinely interested to start the bidding because I won't let this go in the last few seconds. Whoever wins this, is gonna love it till they die, so count the days! BEST THEY START SHAKIN' THOSE TAIL FEATHERS! Thanks again for your comments - really appreciated! Regards, Sandbitch

Hey Steam, have you tried to find the poster on ebay without using my link? It doesn't come up in any of my searches. I even used the blues brothers ebay links here and still no love! I'm actually considering suspending the auction until I can figure out why it's not revealing itself on ebay! Maybe I've got it listed in kitchen utensils...Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Cheers, Sandbitch
ps. A full can of Fosters in the face leaves a nasty bump, yes? Another difference in the posters is that Jake and Ellwood are inside a box on the original.

I just looked where I would have expected to see it, entertainment memorabilia, and it is not there.

That's where you'll find a ton of Blues Brothers posters including this Grateful Dead/Blues Brothers one with similar style colours ...

My only guess on that is because your listing is with eBay.com.au. I'm thinking only people who browse the Australian eBay listings will see it. Although I'm not 100% certain about that.

Hahaaa, yes! That must explain why I didn't notice the other difference with Jake and Elwood in the box. :P

It's incredible to think that Ray Charles actually touched that poster you're selling. What a fantastic piece of memorabilia! Let us know if/when you re-list it.

Aaaah, Fosters...

I've temporarily suspended the ebay.au auction. I'll be listing the poster again but most likely on ebay.com. Yeah, Ray Charles actually touched it and so did I - right before my brother hit me in the head with a can of Fosters!

I'll be sure to post a link when it's relisted. Cheers, Sandbitch
