Hey, all...

Now that I've built up a semi-sizable harp collection (I now have A, Bb, E, G, and two Cs), I bought this case...

...so that I would have an easier time carrying them with me to my blues harp class. Well...there's a strange aroma inside the case...I don't know how to describe it other than "old", know what I mean?....any thoughts on how to clean it or at least get rid of the smell (that likes to stick to my harmonicas, btw)??? I'm literally airing it out on the window sill now, but what else should I do? Should I risk throwing it in with the laundry? ;)

Theres this stuff called "Zorb-X". I have this stuff and have used it many times. its great for "erasing" odors like pet odors and other stuff so it might work on that old smell. Give it a try.

Thanks for the suggestion! Looks like they carry that stuff at Walgreen's...as you probably know, there's all over where I live! (And I work in the only part of Chicago where there isn't one six inches away...) I'll probably grab a bottle on the way home...

Is it non-toxic??? I'd hate to put my harps in the thing and have to worry about whether I'm sucking in poison when I'm playing cross-harp. ;)

Luckily I have a bottle on hand and it says right on the front "non-toxic & biodegradable". So go ahead you ain't gotta worry about sucking down poison today my friend.

Heh...I checked some of the retailers listed on their site, and couldn't find the stuff! My wife suggested Febreze...we have Target's generic equivalent, and I checked the ingredients...the most potent stuff seems to be alcohol, so the worst that'll happen is I get drunk off any alcohol residue. (What better way to play harp!) After several sprays, it actually did a pretty decent job. There's still a bit of the aroma lingering, but not in an overpowering way...

I was going to recommend Febreze but figured you were going to go with Zorb-X. Febreze is great stuff.
