The Liberty Of Lies
By Jo Z. Pierce
Elwood was the quiet one, but at least he knew how to write a letter or two. Sometimes they even contained the truth.
WARNINGS: T rated, but will soon be MA. Strong language. Major Mary Sue. Go ahead and flame. I don't care. It's a Mary Sue... by definition, bad...
Only chapter one is up. For those of you who like this sort of thing, I would recommend signing up for author alerts, so you will know when new chapters are posted. The reason I say that is that it may be fun to receive these in the mail...
Also, it is currently rated at T. But it will eventually go to MA. That means it will at some point disappear from the list of BB stories. So I reccommend bookmarking it, or story alerting it.
Read it, and you will figure out why...

It will add to the drama and suspense.

Elwood: What was I gonna do? Take away your only hope? Take away the very thing that kept you going in there? I took the liberty of bull****ting you.
Jake: You lied to me.
Elwood: Wasn't lies, it was just... bull****.
Work with me, Blue... work with me...
Nah. I have never lied to you. I love mimes and midgets, or at least the stories we tell of them. I am fascinated by nomads.
The only lie is about the paper bags. In reality, I turn a few heads. A few stomachs, too, but that's something else.
So tell me, is there a difference between lying and weaving tales?
I have to say one of the best tv characters IMHO of all times was Garak from Star Trek.
Best Line Ever
Garak: The truth is usually just an excuse for a lack of imagination.
If you're still reading, I'm doing my job...
But the Best conversation is this:
Bashir: So of the stories you told me, which ones were true?
Garak: My dear doctor, all of them were true.
Bashir: What about the lies?
Garak: Especially the lies.
Followed closely by this one:
(Bashir tells the story of the boy who cried "Wolf")
Bashir: If you lie all the time, no one is going to believe you, even when you're telling the truth.
Garak: Are you sure that's the point, Doctor?
Bashir: Of course. What else would it be?
Garak: That you should never tell the same lie twice.

MUDD: "Now listen to me carefully, Norman laddie; I - am - lying!"
"You lie, but if everything you say is a lie then you must be telling the truth, but you cannot be telling the truth because everything you say is a lie... you lie, you tell the truth, you– Illogical! Illogical! Please explain! You are human! Only humans can explain their behavior! Please explain!"
- Kirk and Mudd, delivering the final coup de grace to Norman using the old Greek Liar's Paradox

I have other work and writing to do, so that will be it for a little while. It's a little bit of a cliff hanger, so maybe you will be excited when I get back to it.

Elwood would have made a good detective - but we all know he's on the other side of the law.

I know he's on the wrong side of the law... but he's not really a bad guy, is he?
Ok. What do people think? Bad or good?
Or good, with a little devil around the edges?
Jake is just the devil inside... with a little angel around the edges... Thoughts?
