Hey everybody this is clip from the rare video "Ohne Filter" from german tv. The Band played in Baden Baden in the early 90's. The song is an original by the band that got never released (only on an bootleg from the same time). The song is called "My Baby Likes the Soaps" and sounds a little bit like a mix between the Stax-Sound and Rick James :D
Have fun:

Yep, it a good concert.
Here is the setlist:
Green Onions
Can't Turn You Loose
Peter Gunn Theme
Soulfinger
You Don't Know like I know
Hold on I'm Coming
In the Midnight Hour
Sweet Home Chicago
I Can't Turn You Loose
Raise Your Hand
My baby Likes the Soaps
Knock On Wood
Soul Man
Everybody Needs Somebody (feat. Albert Lee)
Basicly the classic setliste from the early 90's but sometimes with much more energy and fun than the Montreaux-gigs.
The Band on this one is:
Steve Cropper
Duck Dunn
Matt Murphy
Danny Godlieb
Gill Goldtheme
Lou Marini
Alan Rubin
Tom Malone
Larry Thurston
Eddie Floyd
Albert Lee

Hey Simon,
I remember you had told me one time what Felix at the begining of the concert had said about the band...... but I forgot!! Any chance for a complete translation?
Alan "Mr. Fabulous" Marini!!!!!
(You would only get that joke if you had seen this concert, FYI everyone)

A couple of interesting links just came up in Google with other video bootlegs I hadn't heard of before.
Live At Pointe A Pitre - 1992
Théatre Antique de Vienne - 1998
Lucky Strike Summertime Jazz Festival - Yugoslavia - 1998
The pages have screen captures. A Tommy Pipes video bootleg would be awesome

I've got a good one of him performing in Blugaria with Eddie Floyd and the BB Band in 1999, it's pretty good, over an hour! He's got the entire suit on, I just wish he did more BB style dancing........
I want to see a complete concert with "The Honeydripper" performing!!!!

Okay folks today I found out more about the song "My baby likes the Soaps" (so back to the topic
).
Now we never found that song on any BB Band album but Eddie said it's their new singel (the Estival Jazz Lugano bootelg) and even says their is an video.
Well the video is maybe their show at "Ohne Filter" but I found the record he is talking about:

The record is called "Flashback" and was released in 1988. Here is the Tracklist:
1. Flash Back
2. Love's Gonna Get To You
3. Soul Is Back Again
4. From Your Head To Your Toes
5. She Likes The Soaps
6. You Don't Say No
7. Pretty Girls
8. Gonna Satisfy You
9. Daddy's Coming Home
here is a link to the record:

What would be of interesst is to find out if the band on the album is the BB Band. Would make sense, because that's the time when they reunited. And Eddie says it's "their" new single.
What do sou say? Maybe an unkonwn Band-Album?

Maybe if someone could buy the album...... and read the notes inside the cover? I'm sure that would tell!

I have this album.
No Blues Brothers Band members.
The song "Pretty Girls" was written by Steve Cropper & Eddie Floyd.

One scary soul band as mean and righteous as a fist.

Someone needs to load the "My Baby Likes the Soaps" video on Youtube. I can't get to it thru here. I have a bootleg of them playing a similar setlist like this one at the Hammersmith Odeon in London 1989. Love the song by the way.
