Thught I'd take a few moments to introduce myself.
My name is Dieter, 37 years old, and currently out of work and living in Belgium.
I am single and music is the love of my life.
I am especially addicted to Pink Floyd and all related music.
I liked the Blues Brothers since I first saw the movie in highschool.
I immediately bought all of their LP's, but since I don't have a turntable anymore I recently purchased all the remastered CD's. I did not buy the compilations though.
I went through a severe period of depression lately which caused the loss of my job. In this period I rediscovered my love for the Blues Brothers, and other blues music. I purchased most of the HoB compilation CD's second hand from Amazon and went on from there. I picked my favourite artists from these compilations and started looking for second hand live albums on Amazon. I now have an enormous collection of live blues albums. I put them all on my iPod and carry them around and listen to them in my car all the time.
My favourite artists are B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ronnie Earl, Albert King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Duke Robillard, Albert Collins, Otis Rush, Robert Cray, and I could go on for a while.
Ronnie Earl is just amazing. Most of his albums are instrumental. I highly suggest to check out his music if you don't know him. He can make his guitar sing, just as good as Pink Floyd's David Gilmour.
That's all for now, if you want to know more, shoot.

Duck!

No, really, that was quite the intro!
Unemployed, single and blue...
I can relate, however, the clan here can bring a smile to your face!
(In fact you'll smile so hard that if you wore lipstick you'd probably smudge you're earlobes...)
Check out all our departments but be warned, the holidays, coupled with wine and mirth bring out a little craziness at times.

After the 1st. we should be back on an even keel.:)

Welcome Steel ! Here's the place to have fun and forget the blues life can bring sometimes...

Blueblood said it all, we're a bit crazy a bunch, but a nice bunch anyway, but I'm not sure that after the 1st, everything's gonna be back to normal... LOL

There are many things to satisfy your curiosity about the movie and the music. Some people here are a wellspring of knowledge in these matters. (They will recognize themselves.)

Great to have a blues music fan too - nice collection you have.

I think we must have seen the movie for the first time in our teenage years when it was broadcasted on TV, I guess - we have the same age.

Have fun !

Hey, steelbreeze! How are ya?

I'm pretty loyal to my Canadian suds, but you make some fine beer in your country, my friend! I treat myself to a Stella once in awhile.:D

There are members here that are like music historians, to me. I have a feeling you'll fit right in!

You said something about, if you want to know more! Heh, yes I do. Do you live near Flanders? In particular Ypres? Although I believe they've returned to their Flemish name of Ieper. I'm very interested in that part of the world. Just wondering.

See ya later!

I do live in the Flemish speaking part of Belgium, but not near Ieper. I live near the Dutch boarder, very close to Maasricht, the most beautiful town in the world imho.
