Death proof and Ghostrider..

i dont have much to say really just that those are two awesome movies

ghostrider gave me some really nice chills when i saw the two of them ride together to that town (umm whatever that name was).. ill try to find some clips for you guys.. it was pretty damn neat

ok heres the two ghostriders

then death proof, it is kind of gory but if youre a musclecar lover you might not care too much about it..

anyway heres a clip from the movie.. it is definitely not a nice clip so if youre sensitive you might want to consider not clicking this link

(one thing is for sure though.. this car is 100% death proof, if youre in the right seat)

I saw Death Proof last week. Not my favourite Tarantino flick but I still enjoyed it. And what a car chase!!:D

Did you notice the muscle cars were cars from movies gone by?

The yellow Mustang the girls are in when they go to see the Challenger, is an "Eleanor" clone from Gone in 60 Seconds - 1974
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071571/

The white Challenger is famous from Vanishing Point - 1971
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067927/

And Stuntman Mike's black Charger is a tribute to the chase in the classic Steve McQueen film, Bullitt - 1968

Apparently Bullit is a classic car movie, so when I saw it was on TV, I tried to watch it. It was a little confusing - the whole time I felt like I had just walked in a room halfway through a conversation. Eventually I feel asleep, so now I still haven't seen it.

It's a weak storyline, and I found it quite boring. And the fact that so much was set in a hospital...I found it creepy in places.
You only buy this movie for that long car chase at the end, which you can see on Youtube anyway.

Nah, it's a crime drama with a great chase. A classic chase! It did win best editing Oscar and was nominated for best sound. Try it on DVD, movies with commercials put me to sleep as well.:P

Incidentally, Ford is releasing yet another Bullitt car. The 2008 model.

Here's a short vid of the new car doing some nice little jumps in San Francisco.

LOL ... not impressed, eh? The 2008 Ford Bullitt did not make me say WOW, either. Partially intentional though, as Steve's GT390 had all its badging removed, they did the same here. 315hp. They're only making something like 7,700 of them. Y'know ... they just did a Bullitt Mustang in 2001. I guess there'll be the 50th Anniversary model in 2018.:)

It's cool how the Death Proof cars from the final chase are still active. Mustang stayed in the game. The new Hemi/Charger makes a nice cop car!
And also in 2008 will be the new Hemi/Challenger.

I agree with Anna. The originals are much nicer than the new redesigned models. I'd rather see the auto manufacturers retain the old body and upgrade just the internal components to meet the safety and quality standards of today.

You've basically just described the new Challenger. Of all the retro/concept cars I think it comes closest to resembling its predecessor.

What are we comparing? I'm old school, or maybe just old!:D You want me to compare the 2008 Bullitt Mustang with the 1968 GT390? Ummm, there's no comparison.

One of them is a real car.:(

Its not so much the designs that bother me its how they are built. Solid steel bodies were the norm on the old cars, it had a look and a very strong feel. Something about these new ones just doesnt compare in the body to me. Looks like it would crumble if kicked.

I agree that newer cars have weaker frames. They're trying to make them lighter, but the materials they end up using aren't as strong. The solution is carbon fiber, but it's not economical yet.
