Hi everyone!

Was just wondering if someone could mention some "modern" harp players that are amazing? I mean guys like Jason Ricci, ben vaughn and John Popper and so on.
I like all those "old" guys like sonny boy williamson and charlie musselwhite but i would like to listen to some new songs, with better sound quality.

Was also wondering if anyone could mention a couple of INSTRUMENTAL harp songs?

Modern? Check out Colonel JD Wilkes of the Legendary Shack-Shakers. They mix punk, Rockabilly, Blues and other genres. Their instrumental "Thin the Herd" is a minute-thirty three long explosion of harmonica over a punk'd up Bo Diddley Beat.
Damn right I'm on a Mission!

I am not too into the modern harmonica players, all the ones I see are all about playing as fast as possible as if trying to imitate popper, and there is just a lack of soul in it.
Whats So funny about ukulele, love and understanding?

Some modern guys to listen to are: Of course Jason (check out the Blowzone Layer and Wake County Stomp for good instumentals), Kim Wilson is probabley the best traditional player alive (Smokin Joint is his big instrumental), Rick Estrin probabley the best sonny boy-style player alive, Mark Hummel is a great little-walter player, Dennis Grueniling very origianal player he can make low harp sound just like saxaphones, Adam Gussow great overbend player, Paul Delay (R.I.P) funky traditional player gone to soon, William Clarke smooth smooth playin great on chromatic and diantonic died early 2, Sugar Blue is a cool fast player better than popper kuz he actually owns a soul he's the guy who playe don miss u by the stones, there are many many more but these guys are the basics
