Not famous movie cars, just cars and trucks of all kinds that have been used in productions in the Toronto area. These are from the Fawcett Movie Car Collection.
http://www.fawcett-movie-cars.com/
They're being auctioned in Whitby (near Toronto), September 14-16, 2007.
http://www.rmauctions.com/
Just incredible, vehicles going back to 1917. Lots of cop cars. The site is being updated daily but so far I've seen;
- 1950 Ford 2 door police car
- 1958 Fairlane police car
- 1972 Galaxie State Patrol
- '92 & '94 Crown Vic NYPD
- 1966 Chev police car
- '77, '78' '79 Caprice police cars
- 1973 Impala NYPD
- '78, '79 Impala police cars
- 1977 Fury police car
- 1957 Studebaker President L.A. police car (wow)
More being added. Lots of taxis including a 1969 Fury.
A 1946 GMC fire truck. A bunch of Caddy's including a gorgeous 1968. etc. etc.
You can order a catalogue from the auction site, but it's happening in less than a month so ... best get on 'er!

Heh, yeah. There's no shortage of fine vehicles to drool over. I'm going to request the catalogue, then buy a lottery ticket.
I'm not sure if the vehicles come with documentation concerning which movies or TV shows they've been in. That would be cool. So many excellent cop cars and taxis to choose from. They're gonna make millions of dollars!

Nice sites, hop ! in my favs.
Actually, from the auction catalog, on page 2, I spotted a four-door gray 1968 Cadillac that could have been that of the brothers - which Jake is alluding to at the beginning of the movie. Well, that's how I imagine the first Bluesmobile. Comments from the auction site : "Nice original car" - is that the reason why Jake was so angry at his brother for trading the Cadillac ???
Also, on page 14, a 1973 Plymouth Fury that could make a decent Bluesmobile with the correct paintjob (present is a lovely green) and only 38,000 miles (less than 61,000 km - not much).
Select the sorting by make, easier to check cars. OMG, they even have these little Trabants !!!

Absolutely, Vinnie. I mentioned the '68 Caddy for that very reason.
Well, the catalog is free if you're in North America. So I ordered mine and bought a lotto ticket ...lol. I would think that some of the folks who do restorations will be bidding on some of the cop cars. Even the taxi's can become a cop car or Bluesmobile tribute car.
Good luck, bidders!

The new catalogs are in early this year!

Contains 24 pages of cars, trucks, a few trailers. Close to 400 entries. Fairly small pics with very limited write up. This page for example ... with the 1970 Monte Carlo.

They couldn't list every production every car has been in, but a look at the inside cover tells you that on this page, LOT 247 was in a TV show called Missing, LOT 251 was in a movie called Killshot with Diane Lane and Mickey Rourke, and LOT 257 was in the Bruce Willis movie Sixteen Blocks.
It's a really nice catalog but the pictures are better through the auction site http://www.rmauctions.com/ . Eleven days to go. Maybe a few of us should chip in and get one of them Pinto's. We can drop it from a crane if there's ever a convention.

And the catalog's keep coming.:D

So, the Fawcett movie auction brought in $1.37 million. I thought it would be higher. I guess the pictures on line, and the pictures in the catalog, were when the cars were in their prime. Remember the two 1994 Crown Vic police cars? They sold for $330 and $220. I guess they were "clone" copcars and beat to hell.
Heh. I dunno. Dirt cheap, though! Here's the final sale prices.

There was also a 1973 Dodge Monaco sold for CND 550.00, a 1973 Plymouth Fury sold for CND 1,430.00 and a 1977 Plymouth Fury sold for CND 275.00 - cars close enough to the Bluesmobile.
Oh, a couple of them Ford Pintos as well : a 1980 and a 1977 htachback model, respectively sold for CND 385.00 and CND 110.00 !!!
Enrico, have no regrets - would have cost a hell lot more to bring them cars here + all the hassle to have the car registered in the EU... forget it !
