I took every frame of film during the time that Elwood steps out of the car to greet Jake.
I then removed Elwood from the frames and pieced them back together and this is the result.
An unobstructed view of the Bluesmobile.

It took a few hours to complete, but think the end result worked out well.
I'm thinking of having it made into a poster.

Nice work!
I did the exact same thing to get a photo of the mural from Ray's Music Exchange. I had to remove the dancers and their shadows, it took hours ;)

Is that the pic you used for a banner up top?

(if you dont mind) Do you still have the full version that you can show?

I hear ya' about the time.
You go into these things thinking...
"No problem, I'll just clip this and that and bam!, I'll be done."

Never works that way.

I think those kind of things happen to me, when I have to do some of those stuff, after saying out loud this exact sentence: "How long can it take?"... Next scene, three hours later I´m still squeezing my brain out trying to get things right

that is awesome tk!

it looks like that was an actual frame from the movie! this really does serve as an excellent referance photo. not if i could only get someone to tell me without a shred of doubt in their minds what color the "P1" is on the rear passenger doors!

I brightened up the image.

My monitor is set very bright, so I didn't realize how dark the pic was untill I viewed it on another pc.

As far as the P1 on the side, the Mt. Prospect recreation uses a white colored P1.
But, (from what I understand) the actual MPPD cars of the time wern't exatly like what is portrayed in the film, so perhaps they took a guess themselves.

I had always thought it was a red'ish-brown and that it was once intended to be the gold color that is on the MPPD door
image/ decal.

But, perhaps it was in fact intended to be white and because of the distressing and spray over (much like the star on the door) it turned into a red-brown color?

NICE WORK!!! If you print posters - SIGN ME UP for one!!!

When I was doing my car, I did screen capture JPGs from a LOT of scenes in the movie to get my door star right and the P1's... Problem is that they used so many different cars for so many of the scenes, that no 2 really match perfectly. In the drawbridge scene, you can see that the right rear door handle is missing (and white paint is showing) and in some scenes there is a hole in the driver's side rear quarter panel where perhaps a whip antenna may have been?

Pay attention to the P1's and the door stars in the movie especially... I can't remember the scene, but in one instance they look like they were done by hand with just a can of spray paint and no stencils or tape!!!

I just drew up some P1's (and my door star) in AutoCAD a couple of times until they looked and fit right, plotted them out on big paper, and then cut out the letters and held it to the door with a LOT of refrigerator magnets (to make a cheap stencil). LIGHTLY mist your P1's with gold spray paint and then clear coat it so that the paint doesn't wash off (don't use a GLOSS clear coat, and yes the spray paint WILL fade in the sun and will wash off if you don't clear coar it! I had to re-do mine twice before I realized what was going on).

I did the door stars the same way (cheap stencil & magnets) and painted the star a little heavier with gold first, and then did a sloppy job of covering the gold with black spray paint. Again, there are very few scenes in the movie where the stars and P1's look the same!
