I've just become re-addicted to Microsoft Train Simulator, it's such a fun game to play :P
Anyway, I haven't played it in a few years, and back when I first got it I was on dial-up internet. Now that I'm on broadband I can download some of the add-ons people have written, and last night I downloaded the entire Chicago EL train system!
I drove the train from one of Chicago to the other, it was so much fun :P

Here are some screenshots for anyone interested:

It's a good game for relaxing, because you don't need to worry about steering, you just get the train up to a nice speed and enjoy the scenery going past you. Yesterday I took a steam train through the English countryside, it was great...until I accidentally hit "G" and the track switched up ahead, and I derailed my train :P

Driving a train through Chicago must have been really cool:D
On the map picture there is a place that looks like it says ELWOOD but it says E'WOOD and it is next to Englewood:o

I played it for a few months when I first got it, but 2 days ago I was going through my old CDs and found it. I was only really trying to see how well it would run on my new computer, but I got myself hooked again.

it is a good game, but i never seem to have any luck importing the add-on tracks.. they either lock me out of the rest of the tracks or i'm driving with no cab layout in front of me! Added to that the only machine that i can play it on is my laptop for some reason & putting it frankly, my laptop is "electronically challenged" & is about as fast as a snail after it's drunk a can of Red-bull!

There is supposed to be a new version on the cards, basically a sequel
