Hey,
I am currently writing a screenplay/script for a new John Belushi Bio flick!! Somebody needs to bring JOHN'S good name back to the screen after WIRED destroyed it. Anyway I would like to know what you-the fans would like to see in the movie. I will be showing JOHN in good light. I want to show his life-long love for his wife JUDY, his family and friends, and the impact of his death...etc.

Let me know what you think!!

I think it's a great idea, thus my post in this forum...

It can definatley be a huge hit too, it has all the makings of a classic Hollywood movie, it has comedy, romance, friendship, and a crude ending.. However, the ending can also be good due to the following John left behind, and the way people still love and admire him decades after his death.

It can be a sensational movie, I hope something in the near future gets done. There is no reason not too..

I would try to pitch the idea to a Hollywood person, or someone that has some power. This is a oppurtunity you just dont pass on. This movie needs to be made!

I think Judy would have been a good source years ago before meeting Pissano, her current husband. With the Revival and latest developments, I would write the screenplay based on my own research.
Just my opinion.

Hi!
I think what you are doing is a wonderful thing. I recently saw WIRED for the first time, and I think it was the worst movie I've ever seen.
There are so many posts on this site about how they shouldn't have made Blues Brothers 2000, but there are few about WIRED!
Judy is currently working on a new book about John. It will have pictures and articles about him, as well as a DVD of rare footage (possibly home videos etc).
What you have to remember about writing a screenplay is that studios won't accept unsolicited scripts. You have to be a member of the Screen Writers Guild. Imagine how hard it would be for professional script writers if studios could buy cheap scripts from members of the public!
Secondly, very few scripts actually get turned into movies. I think they said you have a higher chance of winning the lottery than getting a movie made in Hollywood.
Studios are afraid of new ideas. They would much rather revive an old TV show or produce a sequel or a remake. Think about the following movies:
'Flubber' was the SECOND remake of 'The Absent Minded Professor'.
'Freaky Friday' has been remade 3 times, and the idea has been re-used over and over.
'Starsky and Hutch', 'Shaft', 'Lost in Space', the list of classic TV show remakes goes on and on!
I don't want to sound negative, but I am just letting you know this could be a near impossible task.
However, with the right contacts (perhaps Judy, Dan or Jim, maybe even John Landis?) you may make it happen.
If you can do it, we will ALL support you!

Good luck!!!

By the way, we can be sure you are a true Blues Brothers fan because you just paid over $100 for a Blues Brothers concert on eBay!
(Yes, I check eBay often, I recently bought the same DVD for $78. We really have to start a trading tree so people don't have to pay all this money!!!)

What I'd like to see is an objective view on John's live. The ups AND the downs. Something in the spirit of Ray maybe.

So Judy is righting a new book that is awesome I can't wait to read it! I read Samurai Widow it is my favorite book. Judy is an excellent
author! I wish I could write her someday but I don't want to cause trouble asking for an address. Yes I can't wait for her new book. Any ideas what the title is going to be?

I would like to see the true depth of his love for Judy and his really good relationship with Dan. I want to know more about how he got started and kept going! He is my favorite comedian(besides Dan) I want to be just like him without any drugs of course! I want to know the man behind the fame! I would like to know where he is buried now! I think this is a great idea! Go for it!

I'm reading Wired right now it is so horrible so I refuse to watch the movie. The author is so hard on John he makes John look like he's some scum of the street. John was a guy who got mixed up in the wrong stuff! He made us laugh! This guy keeps insiting that he was mean to Judy all the time and was always on drugs and swearing like he was in a rampage all the time! I know we cal all get a little angry at some point but the guy made John sound like this constantly! We need a movie or a book to clear his name. Good Luck!!!!!

Back in 10th grade, I was working on a project that briefly involved Belushi's angel in a cameo role. In a convoluted storyline, he gets recruited by John Candy (who in this was the main character's guardian angel) to assist in a little bit he was using to help decide the Pennsylvania governor's race. Before either candidate knew what happened, they're right in the middle of, "Saturday Night Live with the Governors," starring silent comedy czar Mack Sennett and featuring numerous comedians both old and new school in a skewering of just about every game show imaginable. Belushi spent most of it as the number 2 member of the Hollywood Squares-esque board (upper middle square) and being his usual anarachic self when asked questions. Indeed, when the Tic-Tac-Dough dragon later popped up in his square, he'd belch out flames for good measure. This was shelved a couple of years back for lack of direction, but maybe I'll reboot it some day.
