Does anyone know if there is any video footage of the great delta blues guitarist Elmore James? Does anyone know also if he did any live albums?

I doubt it - Elmore James died in '63 just a few years short of the blues revival of the mid-sixties. That's when white audiences tuned into the blues and record companies and TV stations saw there was more to the music than the "specialist" black audience. Watch most of those sixties blues clips on Youtube and you'll see mainly white faces in the crowd - they're filmed after the rise of performers like The Stones, Paul Butterfield, John Mayall, Clapton etc... who turned white kids on to black music. Sadly Elmore James never reached that audience whilst alive - only posthumously. The "respectable" white, middle class broadcasters would not have ventured anywhere near his gigs at the time. Couple this with the limitations of recording equipment at the time and you'll understand why there are no live recordings either.

For anyone younger reading this, please remember the early 60s was a time of racial tension; note and understand my use of inverted commas to express irony in the above.
