I was wondering, does anybody actually know exactly how many cars are crashed in the space of the movie? I was planning to count them, can anybody make it easier for me?

im pretty sure that on the blues bro dvd, on the "stories behing the making of the blues brothers" documentary, they tell you how many cars they used.

and im also pretty sure that its on this site somewhere. maybe the "cars" section, or use the search feature.

Do we count it when the same car is apparently crashed twice, as during the embankment crash where Cars 73, 39, 13, and even 55 go head over heels multiple times?

It's somewhere between 35 and 40, including multiple crashes.

Bluesblues; I haven't seen the movie 42 times, and I'm pretty certain you haven't either. But there are less than 50 cars that crash. And their names are Jake and Elwood. And they are NOT gay. That much I know.

Blues_Sister, as far as I know in the first movie there were 13 bluesmobiles damadged and something like 37 copcars. this info was @ bluesmobile.net 2 years ago...
