I'm a member of some group on yahoo and they have something posted saying that the first season of snl will be released in December. Is this true? I thought they wouldn't be allowed to do that.

If it is true I will have it the day it comes out and I'm very happy they are doing it. I will post more if I find out anything about it.

Wow, that would be awesome!

If it's true, I wonder how many discs it would have. Seeing how each episode is about 90 mins long, it'd have to be a pretty big set. An episode is almost as long as a movie! (Or they might only include the syndicated episodes that are 60 mins long)

Great news! A season 1 DVD set will indeed be released on December 5th! It will feature all of the uncut 90 minute episodes as they originally aired! :D

HA! I know I just saw it and came here to post a new thread but you beat me to it...:D I am so gonna reserve a copy...it's about time. The first five years were the best ever. I am a member of that yahoo group too thats how I found out. You know I went to NBC.com and found nothing about it.

Okay so I was looking it up and I found some sites that seem to support the idea so I'm extremely excited!!!! The first season may not have been the best with the muppets and Andy Kaufman (don't get me wrong I enjoyed them its just it took away from the other skits) but it is a start!! I will own it the minute it comes out.

EEP!!! This is so exciting!! I first found this info on Wikipedia, and I wanted to post it, but I'm glad that someone else got to it first!

Okay, here's me: I'm sitting in front of my home computer, on wiki looking at random SNL info. I'm scrolling, scrolling and I see something on a DVD release. So... I read about the first season DVD release, freak out, start screaming my head off and run laps around my house screaming "OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!!!"
Posted a blog on myspace about it, then the next day ran up to all my friends at school and gave them the info speaking at 150 words per minute.

Do you all think I'm insane?

Man, I hope I'm not quite so broke when this comes out. I'm already behind on buying a few series (Animaniacs, anyone?). This will be good though, some skits I have only seen once when they were playing the good oldschool stuff on E!

One I'm looking forward to is "DRAGnet", with Danny and Eric Idle -- cops in drag. Followed by "DRAG Racing". :D (Danny in a dress makes me go *squee!*)

Quick little story last year I was in my Biology class and my teacher found out I loved SNL and he let me borrow a book of his on SNL. I actually wanted to give it back to him numerous times but he kept saying you can keep it for a little more. I ended up giving it back. He nicknamed me SNL.

So this year we have to start working on a graduation project and we need an teacher advisor I choose him. Two days ago I had to ask him a question about the project while there I was like "Guess what is coming out" he smiled shrugged his shoulders "Something to do with SNL" I said "Yeah the first season they said they wouldn't but they are!" He was like "Well I guess I know what will be on your Christmas list" I was like "Actually it comes out December 5th and I don't think I can wait for Christmas I'm probably going to get it the day it comes out." My teacher got the biggest smile on his face... he probably thinks I'm crazy because of this obession. He's a cool guy though. So yeah I can't possibly wait for Christmas this going to be a must have as soon as it comes out!

I saw it in some pages and people... I´ll get one of these! At least I´ll get tons of classic SNL stuff!!!! :D And if the "uncut" thing is true, we´ll get the blues bros stuff too!

What kind of sketches would be here? Maybe Coneheads, Frank Garvin, The Samurai? I want to know what kind of material it would had this!

I think it will have the "King Bee" sketch. They didn't appear as the BBs (in the suit and shades) until late 1978.
