well of course I love John and Dan but I wouldn't say they were the best
I would have to say now is Andy Samberg and back then was probably either John, Bill Murray, Will Ferrell

I'm just curious as to why people like Andy Samberg. Personally I can't stand him. The only funny thing that he did was Lazy Sunday and I think I like that because of Chris Parnell. Please don't take this as an attack it is not I'm just wondering why people like Samberg so much.

As for my favorite male: Dan and John (I could name a lot more) female: Gilda Radner and Molly Shannon

Dito.These are the only guys I have the best of SNL for.Chris Farley more than likely thow.He's like a real life Cartoon.I wonder if he still lives in a van don by the river!?lol!

Like... try obessed! He is the first comedian I fell in love with. He is the reason I watched and got hooked on SNL and I own all of his movies and cannot wait for Stranger than Fiction to come out!

I love Will Ferrell too! He was so funny in Anchorman!

IMO, The show has been going downhill since he left. What I think they should do is just fire most of the cast and bring in fresh new faces. They did this in the late 80s and again in the mid 90s, and it worked.

Overall, I'd have to say it's all the people from the first five years. Danny Aykroyd would be my pick, if you forced me, but thankfully nobody is forcing me.
I don't know, I just think that when those people went out and did a sketch together, they had a chemistry that the more recent casts don't seem to have. The family bond that they all shared really showed when they acted together. Like, I love Will Ferrell, I love Chris Kattan, and I adored Chris Farley, rest his soul.
Don't get me wrong, I think that the cast members now are just as funny as anyone (with a few exceptions, which I won't name), I just feel that they don't have that little "I don't know what", as Steve Martin put it.
