Hi we're currently setting up a two piece (backing tracks) BB tribute band.

Any thoughts on what we could call it?
:P

haha Dry White Toast is a cool name :P
It's tough trying to come up with something that people will recognise as being Blues Brothers, that hasn't already been done before.
You could use one of the songs for inspiration perhaps?
I recall there being tribute bands called the Soul Men, and I think there's one called Sweet Home Chicago (or something similar). There's an unrelated band called Ray's Music Exchange.
Wow, this is harder than I thought :D

Ive got a name so good I might use it my self,
But before I tell it I will will have to lock up the domain name and get a web site for it,

Before I do that I need to find a more authentic looking Jake (mine are good, but this act needs to go to the next level if we want to the big shows)

Any good Jakes out there get in touch

My favorite tribute band name is a band out of Germany called Sixtyfive Cadillac, from a line in "I Ain't Got You".

I was just discussing trib. band names with my husband, actually. I said I'd like to see one called "Mississippi Bullfrog" (from "Flip Flop & Fly"). I don't think one would necessarily have to be from Miss. to use it. :D

...Sorry if I'm no help :P

ElwoodSoul, If you ever need me to step in for a show, I would be glad to kick Jake on up to the next level for you. We been at it for 9 years now, and would love to work with you on a one nighter, etc, if the gig was right.
We stay pretty booked up, but on a chance we were through your area, I'd be all about it.

"Black Diamond Riders" would be a good one, but I don't know if Dan has copyrighted that too.

Hey Jamey

Thanks for the offer, If i'm ever in a pinch for a 1-timer Jake I'll definetly give you a call, but the next level I'm talking about is the one you guys are already at.

My Jakes are good, but if I want to get the corporate gigs I need to find a Jake that has the time that you do to put into my show.

Any more thoughts on the BB Jam?

Cool Man, let me know.
A Jam would be based on desire from local members here in the south. Maybe a night at a hotel ballroom where we could meet, discuss the convention and get some people serious about it and then have a meal and then jam for a few hours on all the tunes with our band backing anyone that wanted to give it a shot...
Maybe consume a few adult beverages on the way down!
LOL,
Be a fun get together.

you might want to find out how tough those Black Diamond Riders are, because I hang w/ or know some biker groups, even the 1%'s, If you run around using something of theirs like a name, they get P'D. and that aint to good. :P but Im thinkin they are probably only in Canada right, so maybe no big deal.

Hey Jacob, also you got a map I could use to that little Bluesmobile logo at the hotdog joint. Just curious if I decide to take a cruise down there.

The place is called "Boo Boo's Dawghouse" in downtown Normal that serves great Vienna Chicago dogs. It's a purple building, you can't miss it. :)
