my mom says she is sick of em but always sings when i put the music on, same with my sister. my dad doesn't care.

My grandpa loves the blues brothers but didn't have time to go to any concerts at the time because he was in the army.

A few months ago i let my cousin watch the movie a listen to my cd's and he got into them a bought the definative collection:BB:

My youngest brother likes the Blues Brothers, though not as much as me! The rest of my family doesn't like it at all.

In my family we respect each other´s taste in music, an we have the most variated collection on mp3 about everything... Among those are the blues brtohers... My dad likes them, I mean, he´s not a fan but he doesn´t ask me to turn the music off or down... my mom doesn´t live with me... my brother basicly listens to anything I put and my boyfriend... well, let´s just say I wear the pants on that department :D

Well, nobody's nearly as obsessed as I am, but my dad's the one who got me hooked in the first place - and they all put up with my "little problem", to a certain extent (meaning I can't practice "Rubber Biscuit" at the top of my lungs :) )

I ad lib, like Elwood. He never did it exactly the same either. I also improvise the verses sometimes, which tends to bring much hysteria from my friends.

I too had it memorized at some point. My friend, for a present, actually wrote down the gibberish, etc syllable for syllable and gave it to me so I could learn it. ("Briefcase" version) I think it's still tucked in my briefcase.

As to the thread topic, I got started in the fandom from buying both movies for Dad for X-mas '98. (Took me forever to find a copy of the first one.) Then my parents had me sit and watch BB2000 with them. Actually, to be honest, I really wasn't interested in seeing either of the movies myself. Usually when they had me watch some "OMGthisissuchagoodoldmovie" with them, it usually ended up putting me to sleep (Dad also loves all John Wayne movies good and crappy). Glad I did watch them!

Well i've been in love with the Blues Brothers since i was 3, so I'm pretty addicted now. I have 'J-A-K-E' on my nuckles nearly everyday. I went to a wedding once with that on (my mum went mad but thats a difrrent story) Also most of the time i get called Jake because ive either got the tatto on my nuckles or i got my shades on.
Anyway most of my family like the Blues Brothers, even though they are fed up of me talking about it. So i leave it for a month, then i can talk about them alot.

My sister took me to see the Blues Brothers movie when it first came out. Opening day. We went in for a matinee, then kept sneaking in the theater for all the other shows until the theater closed...

Hey, it only seemed fitting.

Elwood: So, uh, you mean you snuck in to see us, like 10 times?
Jake: *Slaps him* What the h3ll is wrong with you? Of course she did...!! Chicks dig us...
Elwood: *rubs his arm* ... OOOW!...

She liked them, but she created a monster in me.

This Christmas when I picked her up at the airport (haven't seen her in 5 years) I had the soundtrack in my car CD player.

Sister: So, uh, you mean you still like these guys?
Jo: *Slaps her* What the h3ll is wrong with you? Of course I do!
Sister: *rubs her arm* ... OOOW!...

No one but me. Everyone else hates them (they do drugs, believe me, I know) or doesn't mind.

joking, of course.

A few years ago I played the Blues Brothers for my kids. They were 9, 8, and 4. Now they are 14,13, and 8 and they love it still. They know every word of the dialogue and every song. Today when they come home I got a surprise. My Best of the Blues Brothers and Blues Brothers 25th Anniversary DVDs came today! Yay! Until now we just had the Collector's Edition. All three of them have been anxious for the DVDs to go here. Okay...especially me. lol Oh, I could mention my husband loves them too and has seen it as many times as I have. The first time I saw it was at the movies when it first came out. I was 13 and had been hooked on the Blues Brothers from SNL for awhile. It was my favorite thing on SNL, well that and the bees, and the Joe Cocker bit. *shuts up* Sorry just really excited about the DVDs finally coming. :)

My dad really likes the Blues Brothers. My mom not as much, she does like the music, but doesn't understand how my dad and I can watch the movie so much, and doesn't understand why I am so "obsessed" (that what she says)! My mom was actually the person who introduced me to the movie, she rented it for me when I was 12 or 13. I don't see the rest of my family that much, so I'm not sure what their opinion is.
