What does it mean when the 'online' viewers are listed as "Google AdSense Spider" or "MSNBot Spider" or something similar - what is the difference between them and a regular "guest" please ??

So we can tell it's not a human looking at the site, it's a search engine 'spider' crawling the pages. That's how search engines work, their spiders visit every page of every website, and build a list of all the words on each page so that if someone searches for those words, the page will come up in the search results. So if you make a post that says "my name is 777123", and then search for it right away in Google, nothing will come up. But then if you wait a few days for the Google Search Spiders to crawl that page, and then search again, the post will appear.
To put it simply, just ignore the spiders in the list. The number of real humans online are the number of members and the number of guests

Nope, and now it's moved to a more appropriate forum.
