Dear Fans,
It's "AYKROYD". It is NOT, "Ackroyd" or "Akroyd" or "Ackroid" or "Akroid". Conversely, it is "BELUSHI", not "Balushi" or "Bulushi".
If you are going to be involved in a fandom, please learn to spell everyone's name. This is not a nitpick, this should be necessary. I don't care if you can't spell anything else right, or if you don't give a rat's a$$ about grammar, or if English isn't your first language - all these things are fine, but PLEASE learn to spell "Aykroyd" and "Belushi" at the very least, especially inside a forum/site where it is written correctly on EVERY PAGE.
If Dan met you, you would want him to spell/say your name correctly, wouldn't you? It would make it seem like he cared about you. Please do the man the same courtesy and learn his name in return.
If you are not sure of someone's name, things like Google and Wikipedia exist for a reason.
That said...
Dear People In The Professional Publishing Industry,
If you have written or helped publish anything containing the name of a real-life person, VERIFY your sources and PLEASE take the time to get it right. Screwing this up makes you all look like ignorant hacks.
Sorry, but this is my biggest pet peeve on earth. I don't mind it so much if it's from someone who's not a fan and isn't in a professional area that would deal with names in type, but not from people who have it printed plainly RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM.
Blame the cynicism and letter format on the fact that I've been reading fanficrants too much lately.
For those that this does not apply to -- Carry On. :D

I read a published mini-biography on Aretha Franklin in Jr. High for a report, and it got to her involvement in the BB movie and they had it spelled "Ackroyd". I was like *blood boil* WHO LET THIS THROUGH???

Maybe when I have some time I'll go through all those old posts and fix the spelling of Aykroyd and Belushi so that those topics will come up if somebody searches for either name.
