Only in bits and pieces. Who knows where I could get a copy? Belushi's E! True Hollywood Story said it was this film's failure that drove him permanently into Cocaineland.

Aykroyd is very funny in the Ghostbusters movies along side Bill Murray.

I highly recommend visiting the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) for a listing of Belushi or Aykroyd films to peruse.

As for what I've seen....I didn't see many John Belushi films before recently partially because of his short career. But I did enjoy Animal House a lot and plan on seeing 1941 at some point.

As for Aykroyd.... it's not until recently that I realized that I've really seen a lot of movies with him in it (with varying degrees of quality). Everything from his short moments in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Twilight Zone the Movie to his staring roles from Ghostbusters (and the sequel), The Blues Brothers (and the sequel), Dragnet, Spies like us, Grosse Point Blank, Trading Places, Loose Cannons, Earth vs the Spider and lots of others I'm not thinking of. He tends to be a lot of fun to watch even in his lesser films for his, what I brand, "perfect turn of nerd humor".

I think I've seen just about every Aykroyd/Belushi movie that the 2 starred in together, unless I missed one :) My favorite Danny movie w/out John is "Ghostbusters" and my favorite John movie w/out Danny is "Animal House".

I've only seen 1941 and I didn't really like it. Wasn't really funny to me. But I liked the part when John lands a WWII fighter at a filling station and the lady has no idea where to pump the gas.

From what I hear the collector's DVD of 1941 is much funnier than the theatrical/TV versions. I've only seen the DVD version so I can't compare, but apparently the storyline was cut out originally to make way for screaming and action scenes. The director's version was pretty good I thought.

I read somewhere that Dan and John's characters only meet each other in the director's version.

If you have the chance, you must see "Neighbors" with both John and Dan. Great movie if you ask me. Absolutely fantastic.

I loved 1941.
"I'm a bug!" Followed by mad laughter. <3

There's also Neighbors, which I haven't seen yet. Belushi's last movie. Dan was an annoying neighbor of his in this movie.

Neighbors is an excellent black comedy, where Belushi and Aykroyd switch roles. Normally, John is a manic and Dan is the straight man. I saw that film when it came out, and it took me years to get it. The funniest moment is when Danny and his wife are locked in the basement, and John gets on the phone to call the locksmith. It's great!

BTW, Continental Divide was John's last film. It showed his ranges as an actor. He would've evolved, had he lived.

I never saw 1941. I want to though.

Also, Neighbors John Belushi's last film I'm pretty sure? Correct me if I'm wrong. I never seen that one, but it looks decent. A unique taste of comedy maybe? Only for some.

Then for Aykroyd there is Conheads which was decent. A little to weird for me.

Back to the real topic, what I remember from my reading is that Neighbors was released last, but finished filming first. The Neighbors crew had a lot of conflicts and disagreements about how to cut the film and the footage, music, etc. was in the works for quite some time before is release. The editing for Continental Divide didn't take as long and released earlier, but John was done filming Neighbors long before they started. John was on drugs a lot while filming Neighbors but was clean for all of the filming for Continental Divide. I believe one of the theories as to why John got back on drugs was the combined disappointment from the flop of Neighbors and the lukewarm, confused reception of his leading man role in Continental Divide.

He would've been a good, possibly great actor. But he had to leave the comfort zone of a maniac front man to do it. And would the audience that grew up watching SNL and Animal House have accepted him? Kinda like watching Bill Murray in Caddyshack, then watching the Razor's Edge...
