Since there's no pictures on the cars page, here's my attempt at the original Bluesmobile. Got a picture of 1968 Illinois license plate from the Illinois State web site, found a license plate font, stuck the correct license plate number on the plate, and did the best I could to get it onto the best picture I could find of a black 1968 Cadillac Fleetwood.

If you want I am willing to redo it. Just post me a picture. I was under the impression that the plate image I used was a 1968 Illinois plate, considering it came from an official state web site.

I can't make the plate any bigger or it won't fit on the car. I actually had to size the license plate down. If you want to see it better, I need a better picture of a 68 Fleetwood.

and for any one interested i do have a couple of 1979 plates with the 79 in the upper right corner and the 1979 year sticker on the left , if you know how to erase the letters/numbers to put in your own i will post them here for you all to use .

i also have a plate given to me from travis from his car with the bdr plate number on it , its a good copy but its flat , as you can see the numbers/letters are raised to give it a 3d look i guess.

Wow very high resolution. I see that I made at least two errors: spacing and size difference between the letters and numbers. I'm willing to make an attempt at the '79 plates too, but no rush.

I posted a few more pictures of a Black 1968 Cadillac Fleetwood on a previous post called "The First Bluesmobile"

Here's the pictures again...

They may be more useful to put your plates on then the original picture that was used.

Hope that helps

PS Great idea by the way

Excellent pictures SP2153, I will stick the plates on them instead. Maybe when Chris finishes the new site we can convince him to put the finished pictures on there. ;-)

Glad to be of help Scott!

Loved what you did with the original photo...
Fantastic idea!

So I thought maybe these pictures of the beautiful '68 Cadillac Fleetwood would be more useful.

Can't wait to see the finished pictures!!

Keep up the great work!

And yes.. maybe Chris will put the finished pictures up in the Car section to show everyone what the original Bluesmobile would've looked like.

Best wishes from the UK

Rob

Huh, that's kinda a coincidence that SP2153's caddy pics has (current) Illinois plates. I mean, just the fact that out of all 50 states this one happens to be registered in Illinois.

I meant by the style of the plates they are current. I remember when they were first issued back in '01 and I'm still getting used to them. I still prefer the old blue and white one that had Illinois italicized in the corner- it was plain and simple.

i know what you are saying about the style of the plate , it is the crappy new ones they have out . but the sticker is old , so maybe the plates were given to the car , or its just an old picture.

I'll DEFINITELY add this to the car's page! :D
Thanks for doing a great job, I'm impressed with it all!

That whole page needs an overhaul I think. I get an email every few weeks from someone correcting the mistakes I made. I used to change them, but then I'd get another email saying the change was wrong. It would be nice if people sent in proof instead of wildly claiming things.

Anyway here is the last list of corrections I was emailed, this seems to be the most reliable I've had, but if anyone wants to dispute these then be my guest. I know nothing about cars and I appreciate any help I can get.

"The Blues Brothers Band Cadillac is a 1967 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, Bob's Pickup camper is a 1973 Ford F-250, The Good Ole Boys' RV is a 1976 Dodge Southwind RV Motorhome, The Nazi's Green Station Wagon is a 1975 Ford LTD Wagon not County Squire, The Police Cars of Illinois State Police, Wauconda P.D., Chicago P.D. they used various Dodge sedans that includes 1974-75 Dodge Monaco & 1977 Dodge Royal Monaco. "

Thanks to B.J. Lambert for that
