From the Mount Prospect Historical Society Awards [circa 1996]:
Paul Carlstedt - Carlstedt was selected for his tireless efforts in bringing to life the "Blues Brothers" police car that was made famous in the motion picture of the same name. The car "co-starred" with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi in the 1980 film. Carlstedt scoured used car lots until he found a 1974 Dodge Monaco with the same look of the "film star." He had it restored to its movie look and ultimately presented it to the Mount Prospect Police Department to be used as a public relations "vehicle" by the department. Its reincarnation has generated widespread publicity for Mount Prospect and its efforts in the area of crime prevention.
I haven't called the Mount Prospect Police to see if they still have the car, but it would be cool as hell if they did.

look at my signature and open it up , the car on the lft is the mount prospect car , and yes they still have it and they still use it for parades and events , car shows and drug prevention and stuff like that . i have some more photo's of it if you like to see them .
