Being my favorite actor, ahead of Chris Farley, it saddens me to see how so few of the younger generation know who John even is or don't appreiciate his vibrant persona. It seems most people simply know him as the guy in the COLLEGE sweatshirt from ANIMAL HOUSE, which is a hilarious movie (but you already know that).

Even older Adults seem to have forgotten him becuase of their anger at him for how he partied and passed on. It frustrates me to see how misunderstood John is by the public. Even though he had his problems, hey nobody's perfect, John was also a wonderful man who was full of kindness and happiness to all he encountered as was shown in the fabulous book BELUSHI. Sadly everyone seems to focus on the negative, why I don't know.

As we know Belushi could act brillantly in the full scale of emotions, comedic to serious, as shown in his movie roles. It is amazing to watch the BLUES BROTHERS and see how extraordinary a singer Belushi was. I thought he sings better than most professionals I have heard. Correct If I'm wrong, but in the Special Features of the 25th Anniversary DVD, Steve "the Colonel" Cropper said Belushi could sing better than some of the people he preformed behind. This just shows how talented a man John was.

John Belushi was a special guy who was a lot more wonderful than most people know or believe. They see him as an out-of-control maniac (which some of his characters were), but John had many generous and caring sides to his personality.

Like the book BELUSHI illustrates, John at first loved the instant rockstar-like limelight that came with ANIMAL HOUSE and the rise of the Blues Brothers band. Yet the never-ending pressure to perform for the seemingly endless fanbase and the demand to be "Bluto" in real life for everyone took its toll. Though his ending is sad, John gave us so many moments that are as gut-busting today as they were the day he performed them.

THANKS TO ALL FOR NOT ALLOWING JOHN TO BE FORGOTTEN!!

One thing I forget to mention:

I don't know how many of you have seen the New Best of Belushi SNL DVD yet that came last year, but one of the last sketches is John playing himself as an old man visiting all his cast members at the cemetary. This one is sometimes difficult to watch.

The name of this sketch: Don't Look Back in Anger.

This is the mistake many people when thinking about John. When I look back at him and his accomplishments always and laugh.

I love his killer dead-on impression of Joe Cocker. JakeandElwood1 found an awesome video of Belushi singing with Cocker. I advise to all to check it out!!

The ironic thing about this sketch is that he's the last one alive, yet he was the first one to die in real life :)
