I'm sure most people know this already, but I found this out recently and it made me happy.

While on the set, Dan called Slimer "the ghost of John Belushi." He did this because he felt Slimer's personality was very much like his friend.

I just thought that was cool, so I figured I might as weel share it.

slimer was actually meant to be the ghost of john in the movie because john was originally one of the two original ghost smashers, later renamed ghostbusters after his untimely death....
