That is by far the most pathetic attempt to make money off the biggest lies I have ever seen in my entire life!

I totally agree this is truly terrible. This is probably ten times worse then Wired but are any of you curious as to what she wrote?

why so upset ? its just a book . it was written in 84 !! it is not just about her relationship with john(rip) but with all types of people from film music and where ever she was . if it wasnt she who injected him with the leathal combo that took him from this world , it just would have been just another tell all book , nothing more nothing less. i have not read it or even knon of its exsistance til now , as the saying gos . "dont judge a book by its cover " see if your local library has a copy and read it befor you all jump on the " lets trash it " band wagon .

tho she did wrong , she should at least be given a fair shake befor condeming .

Well the only reason I brought it up was because she wrote stuff about John. I am curious as to what she wrote but I will never ever get this because of what she did.

See I heard bad stuff about the movie Wired. I knew the book was bad and didn't really want to see the movie but I was curious as to what it said I bought it and that was a big mistake. So I won't get this.

I was just couldn't believe she wrote a book and that's why I posted it here.

Well I'm not up for a debate on this so I won't be talking about her again. All I have to say is what goes around comes around and she will get hers in the end.

Wow, you wouldn't believe a girl that gives drugs and hangs out with all the celebrities, without being one her self, wouldn't be a slut. HA!

and she wasent even hot!!!!! Too ugly!!! and too scary!!! every pic of her that Ive ever seen is Hidious!!

dont think John was interested in anything sexual with that Junkie Whore. It was all for the dope and nothing more. When you do drugs, it can be very dangerous to buy drugs from strangers or people off the street. John was probubly thinking it was safe with Cathy Smith. but little did he know he was better off scoring on his own.

None of you were there , very few of us met the people involved, and this is a hard fact but people who do the ammount of drugs that John did are sometiome capible of doing very bad things , I would like to think he was a good man who sometimes did bad **** , the simple fact is that john chose to take drugs and sadly died beacuse of that fact.

Well, when you're high off your a$$, (general) you'd probably think everyone is someone sexy that you want to sleep with. ;)

Didn't know about this book. Might get is just for curiosity's sake, and to report back on here with. Here's an Amazon link to some used copies. "Unknown binding" copies start at around $8, while the "mass market paperback" ones are going for about $45. They're probably all the same binding, but who knows?

Also, interesting tidbit from her Wikipedia article about her involvement with Gordon Lightfoot. Apparently his song "Sundown" is about their relationship. A modified version of "Sundown" was later covered by an "alternative" artist named (to bring the coincidences full circle) Elwood on the album "Parlance of our Time". I used to have this album; it wasn't bad, esp. that song. I need to get it back again. Also, this Elwood is not to be confused with this musician named Elwood.

I remember a quote I heard once,

" I've never gone to bed with an ugly woman ,

but I woke up with quite a few..."

OMG, I also remember seeing on eBay once a 45 record single that she had released. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the song or anything like that, but it was definitely a picture of her gracing the cover. She was a backup singer, so maybe she attempted to go solo at some point and flopped?

Checked this link again for kicks, and all the copies are currently going for $40 or more. Really, Amazon Seller people? REALLY? It's the same kind of idiots on Amazon that try to sell a used 526Mb USB stick for 90 bucks.

It's even worse on Alibris - some one wants $178 for one. :BB:

One on eBay in the shops for $35 - http://cgi.ebay.com/CHASING-THE-DRAGON-Cathy-Smith-John-Belushi-Drugs-HC_W0QQitemZ380145609110QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Nonfiction_Book?hash=item588271a996&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

The only thing I can think of is that they're extremely rare because they didn't print enough because nobody wanted them, or someone smart had a book burning and missed a few. Now it's a twisted collectors' item, like serial killer trading cards.

Coincidentally, the actress who played Cathy in the Wired movie, Patti D'Arbanville, also has a hit song (make that TWO!) written about her! "Lady D'Arbanville" and "Wild World" by Cat Stevens.
