See I heard bad stuff about the movie Wired. I knew the book was bad and didn't really want to see the movie but I was curious as to what it said I bought it and that was a big mistake. So I won't get this.
I was just couldn't believe she wrote a book and that's why I posted it here.

dont think John was interested in anything sexual with that Junkie Whore. It was all for the dope and nothing more. When you do drugs, it can be very dangerous to buy drugs from strangers or people off the street. John was probubly thinking it was safe with Cathy Smith. but little did he know he was better off scoring on his own.

Well, when you're high off your a$$, (general) you'd probably think everyone is someone sexy that you want to sleep with.
Didn't know about this book. Might get is just for curiosity's sake, and to report back on here with. Here's an Amazon link to some used copies. "Unknown binding" copies start at around $8, while the "mass market paperback" ones are going for about $45. They're probably all the same binding, but who knows?
Also, interesting tidbit from her Wikipedia article about her involvement with Gordon Lightfoot. Apparently his song "Sundown" is about their relationship. A modified version of "Sundown" was later covered by an "alternative" artist named (to bring the coincidences full circle) Elwood on the album "Parlance of our Time". I used to have this album; it wasn't bad, esp. that song. I need to get it back again. Also, this Elwood is not to be confused with this musician named Elwood.

Checked this link again for kicks, and all the copies are currently going for $40 or more. Really, Amazon Seller people? REALLY? It's the same kind of idiots on Amazon that try to sell a used 526Mb USB stick for 90 bucks.
It's even worse on Alibris - some one wants $178 for one.
One on eBay in the shops for $35 - http://cgi.ebay.com/CHASING-THE-DRAGON-Cathy-Smith-John-Belushi-Drugs-HC_W0QQitemZ380145609110QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Nonfiction_Book?hash=item588271a996&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
The only thing I can think of is that they're extremely rare because they didn't print enough because nobody wanted them, or someone smart had a book burning and missed a few. Now it's a twisted collectors' item, like serial killer trading cards.

Coincidentally, the actress who played Cathy in the Wired movie, Patti D'Arbanville, also has a hit song (make that TWO!) written about her! "Lady D'Arbanville" and "Wild World" by Cat Stevens.
