ROCKED!!! I got out of school at about 12:00pm and we were half way in NY at 1:40pm. We were the first people their for the book signing, but before they did the book they had some thing where they bring a musical guest to play and teach kids about what they play. They had a Concert Level Bassets and towards the end of his thing I asked "would you care to jam?" and his eyes lit up and we jammed! It was sooooooo cool. I’m mean how many times do you get to jam with a concert Level Bassets and get complements from him

I had wanted in the store for hours and at 6:00pm they started letting people in the doors to sit. we were 4th in because I stayed to talk to my friend the Bassets. It started on time but Aykroyd was late he had decided to walk. When Aykroyd entered the room an un explainable energy followed along with him. They did a quick Q&A thing and in that Judith Belusih looked at my little brother pointed at him and winked and we were in the front row, and Dan through out the Q&A kept looking a clear focus on me and he kept giving me a very friendly warm look and smiled at me. Early on my brother got to ask a very good question, he asked "if you hadn’t met john would you have still gone to SNL?" Dan’s eyes lit up while my brother was asking this and he went into great detail about this question. He clearly enjoyed answering it and was happy to see two young boys not asking him to brake out into Rubber Biscuit. It was towards the end when one lady said ok No more questions! and Aykroyd Looked at my brother and I who had out hands up for a very long time but were over looked by Tanner Colby, and after the last question Dan said "Hold up these two young men have something to say" obviously pointing at me and my brother with the same warmth and welcome in his eyes. My brother asked his, "Did you think the Blues Brothers was going to be as big as it was and effected as many people as it...well look at that guy (Pointing at a dude dressed as Elwood) Dan and everybody cracked up. Dan again lit up and really looked like he enjoyed answering the question. Then he looked at me and I just said "Mr. Aykroyd I just have to say thanked you, If it weren’t for you and john I would not be doing all the stuff I do today." he got real into it and said "what do you do?" I said "I act, sing, dance, write, volunteer, Play harmonica, and love the blues,!" he sat back in his chair and applauded me and the crowed followed. I said thanks so much Mr. Aykroyd.

Then when it came time to sign stuff I flashed my HOB Harmonica at him and he nodded and smiled at me. Like I had asked him “will you sign this” and with his eyes he said “yes” then started talking to me "You play Hohner special 20s right?" "Of course only the best Mr. Aykroyd" he gave a small friendly chuckle. now he is moving his head to try to maintain eye contact with me and keep talking to me Dan Aykroud actually stopped what he was doing to talk to me and I feel like wow I feel like I know this man. As he continued to ask me stuff "What kind of Mic you use" "The Green Bullet" I said He gave another little chuckle and his face had lit up he was smiling and you could tell he was enjoying talking to me I felt the same. He continued to talk to me "And your amp" I said"I gots myself 3.5w of pure bluesy power" we shared a laugh as Judith personalized my book To matt Dubrow & The Dubrow Family it said. To my supprise they all were eager to signed every thing we had brought. Dan and Judith looked at the pictures of us on stage with our BB resurrection and joking said "hey kid you owe me money for this." we both laughed.

I also gave him a Birthday card for Elwood and he knew what I was talking about, and a Thank you card which when I gave it to him he said real sincere "Thanks so much this means a lot to me I will try and write back." and Judith looked at it and went awww. He was a great guy and because I wasn't able to get good pictures of him because I wanted to be a good listener and pay attention to the question being asked, I got no pictures. So I waited for the crowd to die down with a camera in my hand he stopped signing one of the books looked at me and said in still a goofy joking way. "You again" as he Gave me a hand gesture to move on stage for a Picture. He put his hand out and posed for not 1 but 2 pictures! He is the kindest warmest man ever and it was a great night. I freekin’ loved it. I just got home an hour ago and I am sleepy and got Home work to do but first I have to start reading my book!!

I well post the pics later I am too tired to look for the piece and everything.[/b]

You are one lucky dude Madmatt ........
Dan is a great guy and loves his fans. The greater the fan you are, the more appreciative he is, which you saw for real.
I took my bluesmobile to a BB's concert this past summer and halfway through the concert Dan got on the mic and said how he had seen the car and was so rocked by it. Made me feel 20 feet tall !!!!

its a good thing he was nice, my mom would have killed him if he were a jerk. But my mom actualy talked with him for a very long time she was to the side of him when their was less talking from the fans and just John Handcocks being given out. I will have to ask her what they talked about.
