Significance Of The BDR529 License Plate

Firstly, many apologies if you are already aware of this information (and as dedicated fans you will be!)..
But I hope this is of use to anyone who didn't know!
As we all know, the Bluesmobile's license plate number is Illinois BDR 529.
Here's the reason...
The letters & numbers in the license plate refer to a bike club in Dan Aykroyd's home turf of Toronto,
the "Black Diamond Riders".
The clubhouse was located at that city's 529 Jarvis Street.
Til next time....

I wonder if any other numbers or stuff in the movie stood for something.

"Oh life is like a maze of doors and they all open from the side you're on
Just keep on pushing hard boy, try as you may
You're going to wind up where you started from "

I think it also says the BB2K plate has no meaning, it's just random.

Hey everyone
Hope ya'll are doing well.
Nice to see this thread re-appear.
I think there was another thread listing BB movie connections with a few BDR 529 ones thrown in and seeing how some eagled eyed fans out there have spotted a few more, i thought i'd paste one of mine from that thread.
all the best
Rob

Here's the story...
Many many years ago I saw Brian Dennehys' 1990 movie "Last Of The Finest" (also known in the UK as "Blue Heat")
I remembered seeing something in the film way back then but it wasn't until recently that I thought I'd find out if my eyes were deceiving me!
So I traced a copy of the video and lol! It's there!
At the time the movie wasn't available on DVD so I had to find & purchase a VCD from Hong Kong of the film just so I could take stills from it on the computer and put it up on this forum.. (all in the line of duty!!)
So.. here's what I found all those years ago...
This is Brian Dennehy's mid 1970's Jeep Wagoneer coming into shot in the movie...

Here's a better view... Does the license plate look familiar??!!

And if you needed further proof, here's the rear of the Jeep:

Finally a couple more shots from throughout the film:

I hope you found this very obscure Blues Brothers movie connection useful!
My work here is done!
Best Wishes
Rob

Very cool, Rob. I remember your post about this many moons ago. :o I've looked through the credits to see where they might be a connection with someone from The Blues Brothers and lo and behold both movies had the same prop guy (property master), Michael Milgrom. Not to mention a bunch of the same stunt people including Blues Brothers stunt co-ordinator Gary McLarty, and Elwood's double and stunt driver extraordinaire Tommy Huff.
For anyone looking to rent a boat in Tokyo please consider ...

"Its got a cop motor, a four hundred forty cubic inch plant, its got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks, it was a model made before catalytic converters so it will run good on regular gas. Whadda ya say? Is it the new Blues Mobile or what? Fix the cigarette lighter!"

Sue, when I became a member here I thought I had a pretty good handle on all things Blues Brothers trivia. Needless to say I was humbled immediately LOL. The amount of info contained in this site is kinda mind boggling. I love it.

I'll just take a moment to clear this up ...

Thanks to the keen eye of Bismo's young Buster (and Mr. Mer as well) we now know that the plate in question is actually BDR-528

Thanks to the Bismonator for the screen grab!
