Okay, guys, tell me what you think of this. This is an idea I've had for awhile, and just maybe, it could work..

Here's the plot:

Elwood gets released from prison 10 years after the events of BB2000. Cab and Mack pick him up. He learns that the Penguin has passed on, Buster has been adopted by a family in Austrailia, and that Cab has found a copy of Jake's will. It seems he was married when he got out of prison(before he died), and had a daughter. The daughter(still have to think of a name) is now about 21 years old. Elwood goes out to find her. He finds the family, and recruits her with the band. Elwood also needs to find a new guitarman, since Matt has had a stroke(Elwood goes to see him in a part of the movie). Along the way, a pullover for a broken headlight leads into something more(doesn't it always? hehe), and its a wil chase to get to the big gig that Jake had always wanted to do, in Memphis Tennessee. Will they get there in time? Will the cops catch them? Will Jake's daughter find out her true heritage? You'll see I guess..haha

Hope you guys like it :)

I like the idea. For the new Guitarist, Joe Walsh or Johnny Lang would work.

NO Johnny Lang PLEASE!!!!

I hate his 634 scene in BB2k . He Just did not fit in with Elwood, Wison Picket and Eddy Floyed. Hes a good player but these guys are not Bloned haired surfer dudes. There cool cats. all of them.
5 Grand? No problem. We'll have it for you in the morning. Let's go Elwood!

Hi I´m from Germany. First I want to say sorry about my bad English.
Okay, let´s start.

I was born in 1992. So the first movie was already there. Before 3 months or longer, I didn´t know something about the Blues Brothers. So I bought the first, and the second movie in a store. I watched it, saw some videos on the internet bought the first movie-soundtrack-album, and from one second to the other, i was a blues brothers fan. I would find it great, when a third movie would be produced. But I want in the third movie James Belushi. That was all what i want to say about it.
P.S. Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi are true Legends in the Business.

Hey Dean,
first of all welcome!
The spirit of the Blues Brothers has melded a generation in one thought; It's all about the music and it certainly would be a blessing to continue the mission to you and your peers.!
Many of us would like to see a BB 3! There are so many diverse ideas of how to do it that every themed idea would be a winner!

naw guys, it's a fairly good idea exept for Dorko_Blues's idea of someone to play the new guitarist do someone more well known like clapton, someone that people my age ( teens ) might know his/her face and thus make it more interesting

That was kinda the thought when Johnny Lang was brought on board in BB2K....a new generation of Bluesman, but now looking back, that was ten years ago!

I get your drift.

Now Elwood did say..."we're the Blues Brothers. We do blues, rhythm & blues, jazz, funk, soul. We can handle rock, pop, country, heavy metal, fusion, hip hop, rap, Motown, operetta, show tunes. In fact, we've even been called upon, on occasion, to do a polka! However Caribbean is a type of music, I regret to say, which has not been, is simply not, nor will ever be a part of this band's repertoire."

Therefore the possibilities for an edgier sound and band for BB3 are endless...
It could possibly be "Buster's Blues Brothers" - The Next Generation -

I have an idea for BB3....

Don't make one
I got everything I need....almost...

"I was growing sick of rock and roll, it was starting to bore me...and I hated disco, so I needed some place to go. I hadn't heard much blues before. It felt good."-John Belushi

(Still inspiring me--and knowing me like a book)

i would only agree to that if you couln't get most of the cast members to play in it again, otherwise have at it :BB:

The problem is, by the time the script is written, backers found, cast chosen, film shot and released, most of them would be in walkers.:BB:
I'm not being a naysayer or a wet blanket (really Jo_) but unless new blood is spawned from the old the boys would become a parody upon themselves.

Case and point:

I remember when the Three Stooges were at their prime in the thirties, it was novel and cool. However, when Moe Howard decided that he would continue the trio well into the late 60's & early '70's, the charm and novelty were gone and teens were like,
"WTF is this noise?"
I was so embarrassed and sad I couldn't bare to watch them, as the slapstick that was once a standard in Vaudeville, was now severely outdated.

The Blues will never die but even the Masters can't play them forever...

As Jo_ had visualized, a prequel is one way (my vote) to go or new blood with Elwood (as a cameo mentor.)
As I've said before (and we all realize), the possibilities are endless!!

Write -write -write!!!! Keep the ideas comin'!!

Elwood buys a 1996 Caprice 9c1 LT-1. The movie opens with Elwood saying to Zee, "They're not gonna catch us ..." followed by a 90 minute car chase with killer tunes. The movie ends with Elwood saying to Zee, "... We're on a mission from God!" Roll credits.

What the?? Have you ever seen "Gone in 60 Seconds?" Not the steaming pile of crap with Nicholas Cage, the real one ... the only one. With the real Eleanor ... the only Eleanor! Basically 40 minutes of plot then 40 minutes of car chase. 3rd greatest movie of all time!!

#1 - The Blues Brothers
#2 - Homie Spumoni
#3 - Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)

LOL! :P

I guess the question would be - What would you rather watch? A 90 minute car chase with a fantastic Blues soundtrack, or BB2000? Hmmmm ... shaving cream head man, or the greatest car chase movie ever filmed? 90 seconds of Mighty Mack, or 90 minutes of tire smoking high speed insanity? Hahaa, damn ... I'm drooling. Gotta go slap in "The Driver" [1978] and relax. Which, incidentally, is the 4th greatest movie of all time!

lol
