If there are any people involved in making video games you should contact me... I have a lot of ideas. I mean if they can do "The Dukes Of Hazzard" game, they can certainly do "THe Blues Brothers"

I was thinking a GTA style game not based on any movie, but still using Jake and Elwood. The game is simple you run around as the characters recruiting the band members in different situations. You have car chases and challenges to do.
On top of that you have concerts to preform. You get to choose which character you want to use. For Elwood you have to hit certain button codes to make the harp play right. For Jake you have to do certain moves for stage presence.
If dont right you get more money, but you can also be booed off and it hurts your reputation as a blues band.
Also along the way I was thinking they meet some classic blues artists and they give them certain things to do as well.
Thats my thought

Some of the older ones which are now "abandonware" will be available for download

Now, I can get the first two DOS titles working to a playable state on a modern machine by using an emulator (such as DOSBOX and VDMSound), but even if I written a tutorial...the length and complexity would alienate almost everyone here bar maybe, 5 people. Which is kinda annoying for those who want to try it out (and don't necessarily have a "DOS gaming machine").
And to bluesbrowannabe: it's fairly straightforward, it's only the original DOS/CPC/Amiga title ported to the GBA. A few levels, and it'll be over. Of course, being the snob that I am, you might actually like to try a game that's far more fun: the original Duke Nukem platformers (VERY old, you have been warned) and the ORIGINAL (not the GBA rubbish one) Commander Keen would be a good place for you to start.
Oh and if you get Bio Menace working (released as freeware by Apogee/3D Realms a year or so ago) like so many others did (including myself) you're well on your way to being an ultimate geek.
Regards,
Yickle.

This is basically a circle of road with a little 'Bluesmobile' that you drive around using the arrow keys. The goal is probably to drive in a circle...Yeah, sounds fantastic
Tried to take a screenshot, but the program runs in a very low resolution and changes to a low color mode.
I'm not even going to include this on the site because it's so embarassingly bad, and seems to be like some student's school project from 10 years ago.

In this game you have to control Jake and Elwood at the same time and make them dance in time to Soul Man. You need to make sure that Elwood plays a harp solo at the right point in the song, and throughout you need to make Jake and Elwood jump to catch things flying through the air across the stage.
It's made by a fan ('Blues Panda'), and it's not as terrible as it sounds

This is the Blues Brothers 2000 N64 Game, which I played using the Project 64 emulator. I doubt we can offer this for download, unless you think it could still be classed as abandonware (even though the company is still very much in business).
If anyone has any of the real games (such as NES, SNES, GameBoy) and can tell if they're the same game (they have the same artwork) then please feel free to tell me.

But something closer to the movie would be a whole lot of fun.
If Dan's prepared to do a new Ghostbusters video game, then perhaps Blues Brothers will follow sometime? It might be a good way to do a 3rd movie without actually making a movie.

Blues Brothers 2000 had mini-games like that. Push the buttons and the guys dance to get...something. I forget. The controls on it were a little wonky though. I remember I'd push the buttons and it would act like I didn't. That whole game was weird.
I like your idea, it sounds like a perfect setup for a BB game instead of the previous platformers.
I myself would love a Silent Hill-esqe game where Elwood has to ward of ghosts/demons and help rest Jake's soul. But that's just because I like Silent Hill so much

I think nothing would beat going off an insane jump in the bluesmobile with Cant turn you loose playing. I could do that for hours.

Click on search and type in the make and model of the car. There are, I think, 4 games that featured Monaco's. One of which looks like a Mount Prospect 1974 Monaco.

Pretty cool, eh! I'd have to go back to remember the name of the game.
Sparks galore on it's way to what must be a huge jump of some sort.:D If you like cars, and you like games ... I can't think of a better site.
