I just saw some of the "Blues Brothers 2000" performers onstage together again at the James Burton International Guitar Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana. The concert featured Steve Cropper, Dr. John, and Jeff Baxter onstage with James Burton, Eric Johnson, Eddie Anders, and Doyle Dykes among others for a celebration of rock and blues guitar. It was nice to see them all onstage together at the Municipal Auditorium, where new statues of Elvis Presley and James Burton were unveiled in front of the building during the weekend. They closed with a 15 minute version of Green Onions, which was wonderful, and Dr. John and Cropper had their solo songs to perform like "Right Place, Wrong Time", "Such a Night", "Midnight Hour", and "Dock of the Bay". I got the chance to talk to Steve Cropper and he said that John Landis and Dan Aykroyd are putting on an Anniversary Show for the Blues Brothers at Groman's soon, hope some of you get to go, wish I could!
