Default Thinking of buying a chromatic

Of course, the Hohner Chromonica and others are the really popular ones...but I'd rather not spend $130 right now.

I keep seeing this on eBay:

Chromatic 10 Hole 40 Tone Harmonica C-Tuned NEW - eBay (item 400027534673 end time Feb-06-09 21:31:47 PST)

I've left a message with that seller asking for the make and model, but I have a feeling that with such a low price tag (even when you convert Oz to US dollars), it ain't exactly a quality harmonica. Anybody know about these particular models???

It's probably a Swan - mass produced Chinese stuff. poor quality control. If price is an issue go with a Hohner Chrometta until you feel confident buying a better model. If price doesn't matter, get a Hohner CX12.

Heh...yeah, and I always preach that you should never cheap out on two things: 1) a mattress, and 2) a musical instrument! I think I'll just bite the bullet and get a Hohner. Yeah, I did say before (but not here!) that chromatics are for cheaters, but hey...

You can buy one new for around $127 from Music 123.
