Default What Is It About This Car?

After all these years and numerous viewings,I still highly anticipate every scene with that ****box Dodge! As a kid I used to ride my bike to the only store I knew of that had the ERTL Bluesmobile in stock.

A few years ago I purchased another diecast BluMo,just a little bigger.

Now I'm bidding on an 1/18 scale replica on Ebay.

To top it all off I'm trying to get a real 1974 Monaco of my own.

WTF is it about this old, beat up police car that has fascinated me (and quite a few others I see) all these years?

I think it was Akroyd's description of it at the beginning of the movie. There have been plenty of movie cars that did alot of cool stuff but not many have the following of this one.

In the novelization, Elwood talked about parking her in the transformer box under the L, which embued her with magical powers. It was nice to see in the reissue that that scene had been restored.

My feeling is this on the car......When I drive my BluesMobile around Nashua NH and people are using their Cell phone camera's to take pictures of the Big Boy and almost crashing in the process and the look on their faces is PRICELESS....... But ya know, when a little kid sits in the car and has this HUGE SMILE on thier face that is the best..... Sure its a POS 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury but its just fun....
