This is an insteresting story. One I'm sure other Bluesmobile owners have had to deal with. This issue is a big deal in California because the California Highway Patrol uses black and white patrol cars for 98% of thier cruisers. As most BB fans know, the CHP was the source for the movie cars. Fortunately I bought a copy of the 1200 page motor vehicle code for the state and did some research.
It turns out in California, if your car is older than a 1980 model, it can have a black and white paint scheme. As stupid as California legistlators are, it looks like even they recognize that a 35 year old car is not realistically going to be used for impersonations. Unfortunately this means that a BB 2000 LTD black and white paint scheme is out.
