Bluesmobile Reunion 2010

Is that the date? Bismo was right - the Emergency Vehicle Show in Chicago in 2010 is supposed to be the week earlier.

Also, on that poster, there is not meeting place. The phone number has no area code to really get info. I'd love to see a real announcement of it, and not just some spatterings of announcements and rumors.

Is '76 working on this still?

The thread says the show is the 6th, 7th, and 8th. I sure hope so! I reserved my hotel a month or 2 back on those dates, at the ammbasador east hotel, and it was the last room available. I cant wait to meet you all, and take the blumo to the filming locations! The blumo show is the 7th, and they have a lights and sirens parade on the 8th. But ill be there for all days.

I think you're ok... that one big planning thread was really confusing since there were so many ideas being passed around, and it sort of died off. It was originally set up for ideas and brainstorming, so the idea that it was an official announcement got lost.

I would like to make a request/suggestion to our mods:

Can there be a section, a banner, an advertisement, or a sub-board that makes an Unofficial "official announcement" about this? I didn't even realize it was still in the planning stages, and I am sure that it's still a question mark in many people's minds. I know the original planning stage thread was stickied, but honestly, there were so many ideas that got lost, who knows?

Ideally, if a new thread is started, the first post should have all the information on it. Since I am not organizing this at all, I will not start such a thread.

The title of this thread is really unspecific (Is that a concert? A wine tasting? A Blumo convention?) and I am not sure how many people will take the reunion seriously without more centralized info.

Good bump, _Soul! This event does indeed deserve more recognition. There seems to be a schedule in place, thanks to Nathan (76'er)!

Steam had better make it, hitch, finaggle, ride or whatever, but he better be there, or I may say piss on it. He's the hardest working member on tis post ans he deserve's a ride if he can get one, maybe I'll do it myself if I have too, cheers to Steam

I'll be making a phone call to Dave Weaver (show organizer) to confirm the daily itinerary for this year and the times for each part of the show. He still has 2009 information posted on his website. I'll ask when the information for this year will be posted. We can then build our own schedule to include a couple of visits around Chicago. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you face to face and if anyone between Pittsburgh and Chicago might need a ride, let me know and I'll pick you up on the way.

Thanks all - keep tuned in. I'll get a complete update on this ASAP.

I offered to take Steam last year and if he didn't go , I didn't go . So maybe this year Steam ? I'll have to stock up on pizza & beer , he runs on pizza n beer .

Sorry to sound like a jerk, but can someone please post ONE reply that has ALL of the information in it? I've read through a hundred posts and keep hearing "I think..." and ""What we're PROBABLY going to do is..." If I need to start making my plans now to come from the east coast of Virginia, I'd like enough concrete information to hang my hat on... and credit card numbers for a room reservation, etc.
Again, apologies for sounding like a jerk - but please, ONE post with ALL of the information that we know at this point would be a BIG help.

This thread has been stickied for a long time.

It's not really a Blues Brothers event. Nathan was in contact with Dave Weaver of the Chicago Emergency Vehicle Show, Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show, and from what I understand there's an open invite for any and all Bluesmobiles to attend.

The dates are set for the CEVS and of course the Saturday Night Cruise in Mount Prospect which, in the summer, is every Saturday night in Mount Prospect.

Interested parties should book a room for the nights of August 6 and 7, either in Chicago or Mount Prospect.

Sounds like Saturday, August 7, 2010, will be the day to get any and all Bluesmobile's together for a pic!
