Well, guys, im tryin to learn blues harp and stuff for a bb song im doin for a talent show (soulman or everybody needs somebody). Now i kinda hav a basic idea of this, but i need some help.

som1 on the site sent me a page with all the keys of harmonica on all the bb songs. but i noticed while listening, that the key of the original song is different on the soundtrack than in the movie (on everybody needs somebody), etc...

so, my question is...
how do you find out the harmonica key to a song (a blues song, bb song specifically) if you know the key of the music?

and i kno this may sound stupid, but...
how do you tell what key a song is in? like, if i get a sheet music piece of "soul man", will it say what key it is in or smthin?

Well,if you want to play the song in the same key as the soundrack album or the best of version, the band will play on C and you on F harp. On the dvd/vhs ,all the songs are altered (Everybody needs somebody is in C#,etc)
And if you will play soulman like in Briefcase full of Blues, the harmonica is in B. Good Luck with the show... I hope a friend and I will do a small gig in december :P
