bluesharp, it sound well in C, but the key is in F (you see, the guitars and bass sound in C). You can find more keys on the topic "harp keys" in this forum.

Hello everybody! I just started to learn playing the harp and I have a Hohner Bluesbandharp. I think I'm very bad because I can't play the notes clear!^^ I always blow in two holes at the same time... can you give me a tip??

Just keep practicing your tongue-blocking. It might take a couple of weeks, but keep practicing.

Hi,
the Hohner Bluesband is a cheap one, made in China....
Try a Bluesharp MS (made in Germany)!;)
Use your tongue to blow just in one hole....
Practise, practise, practise:cool:

Welcome Vaffel, I'm like you, I've just started to learn. Apparently, it's normal at the beginning. I can't give technical solutions as I'm just another absolute beginner... but all I could say is practice, practice, practice ! And regularly. I practice (I don't call it 'play' for the time being), up and down the scale, one hour per day, up to the moment I can get clear notes. Not always that easy or funny but I don't think there are other ways to feel comfortable with the harp - or any other instrument. It's like when you start singing lessons, if you never sang before, you end up vocalizing for at least 6 months in a row (was my case about 10 years ago...). Regular practice is the catchword.

When I feel okay, I treat myself with a bit of 'Amazing Grace' (simplified). Today I could not manage to get the G (on the 2nd hole) out fine... There are days like that I guess... :?

Oh, that's okay, Harper-Chris, don't you worry about English. We understand you very well, that's the most important. I still have such a long way ahead of me before achieving a decent sound... but I'm not one to lose hope !
